Angel Reese Makes Runway History — From Court Star to Victoria’s Secret “Angel”

Angel Reese Makes Runway History — From Court Star to Victoria’s Secret “Angel”

Angel Reese is about to make history again - but this time, not on the basketball court. The Chicago Sky star has just announced that she’ll be walking in the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, becoming the first professional athlete ever to hit that runway.

In her words: “Stepping into a dream: From Angel to a Victoria Secret ANGEL. I’m finally getting my wings - I’ll be walking the Victoria’s Secret 2025 runway show for the first time, and it feels like destiny. Wings on, heels ready … catch me on the runway.”

The brand also shared a video of Reese in a pink robe, black lingerie, and feathered white wings, calling the moment “major” - which feels like an understatement.

For context, the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show originally launched in 2001 and ran almost every year until it was cancelled in 2019. It came back last year with a new, more modern vision. And now, adding Reese into the mix makes the reboot even more significant. She’s not only stepping into a completely different world, but expanding what we think athletes can represent.

This moment isn’t just about one person walking in a show - it’s about blurring the lines between sport, style, and identity. Reese is proving that being an athlete doesn’t mean being locked into one version of yourself. She can dominate on the court and just as easily own the runway.

For so many young people watching, especially those balancing sport and self-expression, this is powerful. It’s a reminder that you don’t have to choose between being strong and stylish, competitive and glamorous - you can be all of it.

Angel Reese is literally getting her wings, but in the bigger picture, she’s also giving wings to anyone who wants to imagine themselves beyond the box they’ve been put in.
